St. Patrick’s Day practice begins

McGillinsCome Sunday it will only be six months until the next St. Patrick’s Day.

The folks at McGillin’s Olde Ale House in Philadelphia figure that’s good enough reason to hold “St. Practice Daze.” “You’ve heard of Christmas in July? Well, this is St. Patrick’s Day in September,” said co-owner Chris Mullins. “September can be such a busy month, it’s important to relax and have a little fun too!”

McGillin’s will begin celebrating St. Practice Daze on Sept. 22. On Sept. 23 (a week from Saturday) the party begins at 1 p.m. with live Irish music. McGillin’s will serve green beer, O’Reilly’s Irish Style Stout, Fish ‘n Chips and Shepard’s Pie.

Also Sept. 23 a street festival called “Around the World in 80 Yards” will be held at nearby at 13th & Sansom streets. The festival marks the end of Octoberfest. McGillin’s will feature such German specialties including Bratwurst and Knockwurst platters as well as Octoberfest craft beers.
