Iron Hill gathers ‘reserve’ beers

Why, given that we’re out here in the Mountain time zone, keep mentioning beer events on the East Coast? Because they look like such fun. So the latest:

Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant in North Wales, Pa., will host a special Brewer’s Reserve Tasting June 24 from noon to 4 p.m., showcasing beer from its five locations and the area’s premier craft brewers. The tasting event will offer more than 30 rare and reserve and bottle selections. Tickets cost $35 in advance and $40 the day of the tasting. Call 267.708.2000.

“Our Brewer’s Reserve Tastings are always immensely popular. Guests will have the opportunity to taste truly amazing beers and take their favorite home with them, ” says North Wales head brewer Larry Horwitz who will be offering samples of his World Beer Cup award-winning batch of Abbey Dubbel.

Iron Hill will be featuring 15 beers including Bourbon Russian; Oak Aged Quad; and a Belgian Tripel. Some of the other exceptional brews will be: Sly Fox, Incubus, Saison Vox and 113 IPA; Dogfish Head, World Wide Stout, 120 Minute IPA and Raison de extra; Victory, Golden Monkey, Old Horizontal Barleywine, Hop Wallop and Saison; Ommegang, Three Philosophers Quadrupel, Ommegang Abbey Ale and Hennipen Farmhouse Saison; Flying Fish, Big Fish Barleywine; Heavyweight, Perkuno’s Hammer; Troeg’s, Mad Elf; and many more. In addition to sampling the area’s greatest beers, guests will enjoy complimentary cheeses, olives and tapas.
