All hail the English pub
It’s official: the pub is an icon of England. ICONS - an online project - has afforded the British pub the same status at the mini-skirt.
If you had a pint for every books written in praise of the pub you wouldn’t go thirsty for a while. These include The English Pub, Michael Jackson’s first beer book, published 30 years ago and no longer in print.
Right now were’s reading the quite enjoyable An Inebriated History of Britain by Peter Haydon, first published as The English Pub: A History back in 1993.
Recommended whatever title you find it under.
Makes us want to haul out a few pubs photos from our recent trip to London.

The Princess Louise in London, a Samuel Smith’s pub, is know for its interior - but known best of all (at least from those who visit the men’s bathroom) for its old-fashioned urinals.
