Speaking as an Irishman, I implore you to come here and support the traditional Irish pubs for yourselves.

I have a few tips for you if you decide to come.

1. Come to the west of Ireland. It is without doubt the nicest part of the island. It doesn't really matter which part of the coastline you choose, they are all uniquely brilliant.

The ring of Killarney in Kerry is one of the most beautiful places in the world, and there are plenty of tourist facilities in every town and village, but if you're into a more authentic experience, you have to go to Mayo. There are parts of this county that are very sparse in population, but scattered with villages that still retain the heart of Ireland. Achill Island is spectacular (it's connected by a bridge so it's easy to access) and if you take the coast roads north towards Erris head it'll be well worth your while.

I myself am from Clare in the mid west, the home of the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher. The Burren is an amazing place to visit and there are a number of lively villages along the coast. its in between Limerick city and Galway. Galway is the nicest city in Ireland.
