What kind of people?

Union Jack’s Inn on the Manatawny (Pennsylvania) has been open three years, and suddenly seems to be getting lots of attention.

Jack Curtin just posted a terrific review (which over time may get hard to find because his blog isn’t exactly a blog). Check out the beer lineup, listen to the story about the fisherman and consider this quote from co-owner Jeff Stiegelmann near the end:

“When we were setting up, a lot of local bar owners laughed at me and asked ‘what kind of people are you going to get in here to drink these beers?’ I laughed right back at them and said ‘the kind of people you’ll never see.’ Now I see they’re all trying to upgrade their own beer lists, even if it’s only adding Guinness Stout.”

Yes, our good friend Jack has such an enticing way of writing that it has bumped up Union Jack’s on my must-visit list. It’s always lingered around on the middle of my list, especially that it’s not the easiest place (for me) to get to.
