No, not really beer
The New Scientist reports on a drink “somewhere between coffee and beer”:
Nestec, part of the NestlĂ© empire in Switzerland, has filed patents in every major market round the world on a “fermented coffee beverage” that pours and foams like beer, but smells of strong coffee and packs a concentrated caffeine kick.
It may be fermented, but that’s controlled in a way that stops the formation ethyl alcohol - ind of important if they want to call it beer.
