Natty Bo

A Maryland couple has acquired the marketing rights to Mr. Boh, the grinning, winking mascot of National Bohemian beer, or “Natty Boh.”

National Bohemian beer was last brewed in Maryland in 1996 - Pabst Brewing owns the rights to the brand, which is actually brewed by Miller - but many in a area an between Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania at includes Baltimore consider it their “hometown” beer.

It reminds us of a visit to a Baltimore bar called Nacho Mamas in 2000 Where there isn’t a picture of Elvis Presley or a photo from old Baltimore (mostly sports), there was a National Bohemian item. These included signs large and small, a gallery of bottle caps on the wall at the front entrance, buckets hanging at the bar and more.

Sometimes there’s more to the way people feel about a beer than what’s in the bottle.
