Hop harvest time

The hop harvest is in full swing in Oregon. The family run Goschie Farms in Silverton will produce 400,000 pounds of hops, selling most of that to Anheuser-Busch and Coors, but working on special projects with Widmer Bros. Brewing Co. of Portland and Pelican Brewery in Pacific City.

The list of breweries and brewpubs who have stepped up to aid vicitms of Hurricane Katrina continues to grow. The Boscos brewery-restaurants in Tennessee and Arkansas are located close enough they could provide direct aid. Rebuilding NOLA one beer at a time

The folks at Abita Brewing Co., located 30 miles from New Orleans, have rolled out a new beer and a supporting line of merchandise as part of a campaign to raise money to restore NOLA.

Shiner’s anniversary countdown
