A pub to visit. The Pub Aid program at a spot in Australia reaffirms out faith in the community pub. Pub regulars have contributed more than $30,000 for charitable projects in Cambodia, and that’s just one way it’s made itself and important party of the community. “There’s no communication happening when you’re communicating with a machine,” said co-owner Alison Whyte, explaining why she and Fred Whitlock operate the way they do. “Communication makes community, and that’s what makes a good pub.”
Nothing says fall like the whir of chainsaws Credit the Seattle Times for that great headline, and this terrific lead: “Usher in autumn with microbrews, zucchini races and the Texas Chainsaw Pumpkin Carving Contest this weekend at the Fremont Oktoberfest.
