Shiner’s anniversary countdown
The Spoetzl Brewery in Texas, which makes the Shiner beers, officially celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2009, but has has started the countdown by announcing it will brew a limited edition beer each year. First up is Shiner 96, a maerzen.
Texas consumers will be able to buy a collectible wooden crate with 25 Shiner 96 bottles. The first 1,909 crates will be autographed by brewmaster Jimmy Mauric.
