Bud Light Orangutang
Who is this woman and what is she doing?
Her name is Marianne Radley and her job title is innovations manager for Anheuser-Busch. She’s mixing up a drink called “Bud Light Orangutang.” As well as rolling out new flavored beers, A-B is promoting beer-mixing recipes, which can be found on its web sites and in the aisles of some grocery stores. Among the new concoctions is Bud Light Orangutang, made with orange juice, grenadine and something called simple syrup.
To promote its new products and do-it-yourself mixes, A-B has representatives like Radley on the road, giving the media a taste of what it hopes is the new “refined side of its beer.”
The Associated Press reports: “Some (combinations) were a hit with a small group of reporters/tasters, including the light and airy ginger ale mix that didn’t offer even a hint of beer aftertaste, and an eye-opening Bloody Mary-like beer concoction. Some of the more fruity mixes, including an orange juice-beer drink that sought to mimic a mimosa, seemed to be more of an acquired taste.”
Not one I expect to end up acquiring.

I love Budweiser. I do. It’s funny to me that I get grief for drinking an ice-cold bottle of Budweiser from my “beer snob” friends. I laugh as they always tell me how mass-produced it is…and how I should be drinking a “hand-crafted” beer. Isn’t that what Budweiser is? I get a kick out of snobby hop-heads who poo-poo the idea of Budweiser being a good beer. It is..it’s a terrific beer. And anyone who was educated enough about the ingredients that go into beer would know that Budweiser, and all of those beers that Anheser Busch (am I spelling their name right?) make are outstanding. My boyfriend loves the fact that I have this “fettish” for beer. We have gone to 13 different breweries and done tours..of course we went to 3 Busch breweries, but then we went to Sam Adams, Coors, Goose, Spanish Peaks, Widmer, Heineken in Europe, Guiness…I havent seen a cleaner brewery than the Busch breweries. And even the ingredients looked so much better than any other brewery’s barrels of “hop” pellets. It blows my mind that there are so many pompous, snobby, self-proclaimed Hop Heads that don’t know crap about what makes a good beer.
Oh, and I tried one of those mixed beer drinks from Busch. I had a budweiser with ginger ale and some spices in it. AWESOME!!! again, I am a Bud Girl through and through…but man, they do know something. Great drink!!

How can anyone in their right mind like the taste of budweiser! you may as well drink water. I enjoy good beer and am not pompous or snobby, i like a my beer to taste like …well beer. Bud uses rice in their beer, and preservitives, plus they are twistoffs. beer should not be twistoff, or sold in cans. if people want o drink bud thats their preference, but saying bud is just wrong
