No, the monks are not out of beer
The headlines are scary:

But the monks at the abbey of Saint Sixtus of Westvleteren in Belgium still offer their coveted beer for sale at the inn across from their abbey. I apologize for whispering like an insider, but I was in the brewery in December. Here are some excerpts from my upcoming book Brew Like a Monk.
Worth remembering: “Although it is the least commercial of the Trappist breweries, Westvleteren still operates with commercial intent; the profits just happen to go to running the abbey and for various charities. However, it remains most closely connected to monastery brewing tradition.”
